Are you tired of always being safe? Do you think you are ready to take the plunge and do something scary? Can you handle the consequences? These are the questions that you should first answer before deciding to do something that will affect your life and somebody else’s life. Here is a list of tricky situations with its corresponding pros and cons.

Situation: Breaking up with your boyfriend. You have been arguing for months and the issues seemed to just multiply. The happiness you felt when you are with him is now nonexistent. You even find yourself comparing him with other guys you know. If you think the relationship has nowhere to go but downhill then take the courage and have a heart to heart talk with him. Explain the problem and your decision. The risk: Weeks after the break up, you might realize that you still love him and when you desperately wanted him back, you see that he has moved on.

Situation: Ask your crush out. You have been spying on him for months and you are certain that he knows you exist. You exchange small smiles when seeing each other but nothing more than that. You like him and are willing to do anything just to be able to spend some quality time and get to know him better. Pick up your phone and send him an invite. If you are really brave enough, ask him out personally to a casual dinner or lunch date. The risk: If he says no, you will be devastated for a few days and you will definitely feel embarrassed around him.

Situation: Introducing your guy to your family. If you feel that the relationship with your boyfriend is truly serious, it is about time to tell your family about him. Your parents have the right to know who you are dating. Tell him beforehand about your plan and help him prepare for all the grilling that your parents will probably do. The risk: If your parents do not approve of him, this may stain your relationship and may be a cause for a possible breakup in the end.

In Finance, the greater risk you take, the greater returns are at stake. You can never be prepared but you should always do something you are certain you will never regret. Will you take the risk?
