Forgive And Ask for Forgiveness While You Can Still Do It

If you will read through various literature and watch movies relating to death, a good number of people who are already in their deathbeds find it in themselves to call people with whom they have bad blood. These results into scenes of forgiving both by the person who is about to die and by the person who is called to the deathbed.

Indeed, the idea of death allows us to forgive and forget all of the people who have done us wrong. The same is true for people from whom we have not asked any forgiveness from. Sometimes it's just sad to think that this has to get into this kind of situation before people are able to forgive. Unfortunately, not everyone is given this kind of luxury of time in order to find old foes and settle any misgivings. A good number of people pass on with those regrets in their hearts.

But why does it have to come to this situation wherein there is a race against time? Why do many people have to wait until their last breathe before they come to the conclusion that they have to let go of these old issues? One can suppose that with the increasing pace of life that we all live in these days, it has become easier for people to put these issues aside and take them out when it's already too late.

This may sound self-righteous, but in this case the only advisable thing to do is to forgive and ask for forgiveness now while there is still time. A person who has done something wrong against you may not ask for forgiveness and may actually show signs that he/she is not sorry about his/her sins. You don't have to wait for this moment to arrive, though, because you can already forgive them in your heart without their acknowledgement. Forgiving them will allow you to live a freer life, because a life without baggages is a life that is easier to live.

Similarly, if you have done wrong things against people and have not asked forgiveness until now, then you better think about it today already and ask forgiveness while you still have the chance. Your relationship with these people may not be revived to its previous state, but you can always start anew with a free conscience.
