The Importance of Communication

Bargaining with a vendor in the market, settling a fight, courting a girl, persuading a consumer to buy the product and a whole lot more - these are few examples that show the importance of communication. Communication is every person's way to express their feelings, ideas and opinions, with the right to be understood by others. It is the one of the reasons why we have the things we have right now. Communication revolves around everyone and in everything we do. Without it, we cannot understand and we cannot be understood. We will be misinterpreted with our actions, thus hatred or conflicts will come down to every mankind. For without communication, there would be no understanding, and there would be no peace.

Communication is actually not just through words, but most of the times, our actions create ways to communicate with different people. A simple gesture, like blink of an eye, can be a way too. As they say and quote most of the time, "Action speaks louder than words." As some say, it is much more effective than saying what you really mean.

However, not all of us are able to communicate orally (as this may be the most common form). Unfortunately, others are only able to communicate through "sign language". They study and master this art for them to have the freedom to express what they can not say through words yet still be heard by others. Some of us are weak when it comes to communicating. They fail to express their opinions and ideas because they are afraid of rejection. With regard to me, and in the field that I am into, I can not be shy, I have to boost my self-esteem up to meet the standards of other people. There is no room for timidity, come what field we are into. Communicating is what we do. We need communication to fulfill certain tasks in our daily life, and now, it feels like it is already part of our being.

All people, rich or poor, girl or boy, young or old, black or white, need to communicate. It is the primary source of having what we need and even what we want. But, use it for a valid purpose. God gave us the ability to communicate in any ways we can, thus, we should use it wisely.
